The first thing to mention about National Museum of Scotland is, that it is free. The same goes for National War Museum, one of three sister museums.
I was at the museum in 2017 mainly because it was raining, but visiting the National Museum of any foreign country, is always a good way to get in touch with their culture. Of course Scottish history and archaeology is on of the topics in the museum. There is also a vast number of other exotic cultures represented in the World Cultures Gallery.
The section that spoke to me the most, was the Science and Technology Gallery. Here was planes, motors, electronics, race car simulators, robots and a bunch of things you could interact with. Also the Natural World Gallery is worth my recommendation. The many skeletons and life-like figures are fantastic. As you can see, I really liked this giant giraffe.
The interior of the building is very enjoyable by its own, and you can even enjoy it with kids, as they have a family gallery. The museum also has toilets, cloakrooms and a café.
