Season in Whistler – pre departure

Just one more week before I leave for Whistler. It is a huge challenge to me not having a plan for what I am going to do, or where I am going to live and work. I mean... Normally I have things under control, right? But this is also one of the reason I want to do this. I'm getting used to the though of knowing where to stay until October 23rd, and then taking it from there. I've decided to watch Art of Flight and Jeremy Jones' Higher the next days, so if I wasn't already craving for snow, I will be. The resort looks super dope. See for…

    Scotland – Beautiful Highland Plains

Scotland is mostly famous for the Loch Ness Monster, Bagpipes, Kilts and Whiskey. We went in 2017, and were stunned by it's nature and beautiful highlands and even mountains. We went hiking, saw cliffs and waterfalls, castles and ruins and of course tried the local whiskey.

    Sekumpul Waterfall (Lemukih)

Sekumpul Waterfall is one of the larger waterfall attractions, and the waterfalls in the Lemukih area is incredibly beautiful. You will need to pay an entrance fee, but you do also get excellent guide service here. You can pick from different tours, and it is possible to both swim, jump and slide. You will need to hike up and down a steep trail and walk through water, but the walk is not very far and totally worth the trouble. You can change into swimming clothes there.

    Munduk Waterfall

Munduk Waterfall or Air Terjun Munduk, is one of the smaller waterfalls and also a cheaper one to visit. There is plenty of hiking in the area. It is very close to Banyumala Waterfall or Twin Falls, so if you are already here, you may want to consider swinging by Munduk

    Banyumala Twin Waterfalls

Banyumala Waterfall or Twin Falls are two beautiful waterfalls side by side. What makes the Banyumala Twin Falls even more attractive, is the fact that you can swim in the lake below the waterfall, and even go and stand in the stream of water from above. The water is fairly cold however, but with the Balinese heat, this is actually very nice.

    Bali

    Campuhan Ridge Walk

Campuhan Ridge Walk is a beautiful and very accessible hiking trail with it's trail head very close to the center of Ubud. The hike is about 3,7 km out and back with an elevation of just 110 meters. The path is paved with large tiles, and you can walk it in either direction, and arrange for a ride to take you home from either end of the trail. It can however get very hot and humid in Ubud and the hike provides very little shade, so do bring plenty of water and consider going early in the day.

    Teletubbies Hills

Teletubbies Hills has nothing to do with the famous kids television show beside it's looks. The perfectly round shaped hills are beautiful, and does share some similarities with the hills from Teletubbies. This is a great place to stop on your way to The Manta Point either briefly to snap a picture with the perfect backdrop, or to walk around in the hills for some time.
