Vancouver Island
I went to Vancouver Island to see a friend, and the Island was much more American with massive halloween decorations and large pickup trucks. Victoria however was very British, and the surrounding areas provided some beautiful nature experiences for hiking.

Coming to (North)America – Vancouver
I am now well through day 2 in Canada. The flight to Vancouver was quite amazing. The guy next to me on the plane and I were so lucky, that there was no third in our row, so we had plenty of room. Turned out he was an Australian on his way to Whistler, after travelling for 3 months in Europe. When taking off from Iceland, we enjoyed a 180 degree sunset. It stayed that way for 3-4 hours, as we flew over Greenland while slowly catching up with the time difference. After a while the sun was so high in the sky, it appeared to be late afternoon, and…

Season in Whistler – pre departure
Just one more week before I leave for Whistler. It is a huge challenge to me not having a plan for what I am going to do, or where I am going to live and work. I mean... The park covers an area of more than 4 km2 and has a sea wall all the way around. Walking or cycling along the sea wall takes you on a 9 km trip.…

Robson Square
Type: Public Space Cost: Free Time: 10-30 min Affiliate links: Hotels & flights Nearby: Stanley Park Canada Place Robson Square it self is to many people not anything too special. It is a nice place, and if you are ever in the area, you should stop by. It’s a nice open square with a semi-underground ice rink. However, if you are a fan of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, this place will be very familiar if you played Tony Hawk’s Underground. Most of the Vancouver level in the game is based on Robson Square (called Nobson in the game). When I stood there (read my Vancouver stories here) it…
